Mildura Cafes: Varapodio Estate

Back in 2017, We finally discovered the Varapodio Olive Estate. if only we had noticed the sign and called in before. Although to be fair, it's small and easily overlooked. The estate grows seven different types of olives (3,700 trees), and have a good selection of olive oils and oil based products for sale. The drawcard for us is the little onsite cafe which specializes in Italian and Mediterranian style foods.
The menu is not particularly extensive, but serving sizes are just right, and the prices are well below what we were expecting. They are licenced premises, so you are able to have a beer or glass of wine with your meal. I chose the beer battered fish and chips with Lemon Aioli (beautiful) and my wife had an Italian Focaccia followed by olive oil chocolate cake.

They also do morning and afternoon teas, as well as bookings for functions, and tours of the estate and olive groves. While you are there, check out their gift shop as well as a great range of their olive oil products.
